Common faults and solutions of valve
Valve wear:
Reason: Frequent friction between the valve and the valve seat, the impact of high temperature and high pressure gas, and the force of the valve spring will all cause valve wear.
Phenomenon: Valve wear will cause the valve to be loosely sealed and air leakage. Engine power drops, fuel consumption increases, exhaust emissions exceed the standard, etc.
Solution: For slightly worn valves, grinding and repair can be carried out; for severely worn valves, new valves need to be replaced. At the same time, it is also necessary to check the wear of the valve seat, and repair or replace it if necessary.
Valve ablation:
Reason: Valve ablation is mainly caused by factors such as engine overheating, too small valve clearance, and poor fuel quality.
Phenomenon: Valve ablation will cause deformation of the valve head, damage to the sealing surface, and serious air leakage. Engine jitter, power drop, difficulty in starting, etc.
Solution: For slightly ablated valves, grinding repair can be carried out; for severely ablated valves, new valves need to be replaced. At the same time, it is also necessary to check the engine's cooling system, fuel system, etc., to eliminate hidden troubles.
valve spring fracture:
Reason: The valve spring fracture is mainly caused by spring fatigue, poor material, improper installation and other factors.
Phenomenon: The fracture of the valve spring will cause the valve to fail to close normally and cause air leakage. Engine power drops, fuel consumption increases, exhaust emissions exceed the standard, etc.
Solution: Replace the new valve spring and check whether the valve spring is installed correctly. At the same time, it is also necessary to check the valve drive mechanism and other components to ensure its normal operation.
Valve stuck:
Reason: The valve jam is mainly caused by factors such as too small a gap between the valve stem and the valve guide, poor lubrication, and excessive carbon deposits.
Phenomenon: Valve stuck will cause the valve to fail to open and close normally, and the engine cannot work normally.
Solution: For slightly stuck valves, they can be cleaned and lubricated; for severely stuck valves, the engine needs to be disassembled for maintenance. At the same time, it is also necessary to check the wear of the valve guide and replace it if necessary.
